Guided hikes are in The Moosalamoo National Recreation Area (MNRA) within the Green Mountain National Forest of west-central Vermont,  and the Lake Champlain Valley.

This 80-mile-long swath of the state dominated by the Lake Champlain Valley and the west edge of the Green Mountains is perfect for hiking, and wandering back roads through forests and gently rolling farmlands dotted with cows and silos. Add to this bucolic landscape the occasional, umbrella-shaped elm tree punctuating the Adirondack or Green Mountains backdrop and you have walking at its finest.

We offer many options, and diversity is the name of the hiker's game in this region, such as:

  • Ridgeline hikes with sweeping views on Snake and Buck Mountains, Rattlesnake Cliffs, and Bristol Ledges
  • Exploring secluded Silver Lake and other trails in the MNRA
  • Rambles on sections of the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM )
  • Cliff-side walks on the shores Lake Champlain.

Small towns like Middlebury, Vergennes, Brandon and Bristol add flavor to this trip, as does Burlington and its lakeside recreation path.

Comfortable lodging is included at two fine inns and B&Bs.
